Why he built PIwitness
Every investigator knows the second shift: after ten hours of surveillance comes two to four more rebuilding the day from a notepad, a camera roll and memory. Robert wanted the record captured once, in the field, with the time and location fixed the moment it happened, and a report written from that record in the language adjusters, attorneys and judges expect, with nothing added that the investigator didn't observe.
That is why PIwitness entries can't be edited after the fact, why each one carries a SHA-256 fingerprint, and why the report writer is never allowed to invent a detail. Those rules come from the witness stand, not from a software team.
